Re: [storage-discuss] FC hba configuration

2007-11-01 Thread Lyle Merdan
From the cfgadm -al output it appears there is no storage available to the
HBA. If there was, it would look something like this:

Ap_Id  Type Receptacle   Occupant Condition
c0 scsi-bus connectedconfigured   unknown
c0::dsk/c0t6d0 CD-ROM   connectedconfigured   unknown
c1 fc-private   connectedconfigured   unknown
c1::2120379cb9bb   disk connectedconfigured   unknown
c2 scsi-bus connectedunconfigured unknown
c5 fc-fabricconnectedunconfigured unknown
c5::10e0024302c0   tape connectedunconfigured unknown
c5::21008708d98d   disk connectedunconfigured unknown
c5::2120372a4076   disk connectedunconfigured unknown
c5::50020f23588a   disk connectedunconfigured unknown
c5::50060e8014422e51   disk connectedunconfigured unknown
c5::50060e8014422e61   disk connectedunconfigured unknown
c5::50060e8014422e71   disk connectedunconfigured unknown
c5::50060e8014422e76   disk connectedunconfigured unknown

Double check that the McData, with no zoning, will allow devices to talk to
each other. On QLogic FC switches there is a switch parameter called default
zoning visibility that controls if devices can talk when there is no zone.

[storage-discuss] FC hba configuration

Has anyone else had trouble getting the hba to configure?

hw - v210
hba qla2460

from the OK prompt - test-all shows the hba

from the McData switch, I can see the WWN for the v210, status is good, but I
can't seem to get the cfgadm to configure the hba? The other side of the
McData is a SAN with LUNs configured. No zoning or masking.

Yeah! I know what it's supposed to look like - my question is: Why, when I
configure the attachment point, it seems that the command is ignored?

here's the McData switch configuration for the port

Port Number:0
Port Name:  v210-1
Port Type:  F Port
Operating Speed:4 Gb/sec
Fiber Channel Address:  610013
Port WWN:   20:00:08:00:88:E3:42:61
Attached Port WWN:  21:00:00:E0:8B:8A:7F:75
Block Configuration:Unblocked
Beaconing:  Disabled
FAN Configuration:  Enabled
Rx BB Credit:   6
Operational State:  Online
Reason: None

I have a v490 attached to the same switch, it sees the LUNs?

[storage-discuss] iSNS project integration to Nevada

2007-11-01 Thread Hyon Kim

For those who have followed up the Solaris iSNS server project,
the server and administration CLI have been integrated to Solaris Nevada
build 77
which will be next openSolaris NWS build.

I have updated the project webpage
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/isns with
the latest status. Manpages isns.1M and isnsadm.1M have been uploaded
along with
Sun Cluster based backup server deployment write-up.
