No, this is not fixed in Karmic Koala. Thank you for interesting of this bug! I've doing some experiments and here are the results: This is not reproduced on clean installation of Ubuntu Karmic i386. The package version is same, the steps are same, but works as expected. But, on my Ubuntu Jaunty (x86_64) it is 100% reproducible. The differences are the CPU and configuration file. [Bug 362548] Re: Broken packages dependencies
Yes, I have check my /etc/apt/sources.list for unofficial repositories. There was none of them. The problem was that I have used one of unofficial repository some time before upgrading to 9.04. This repository contains more recent libgnutls then 8.10 official repositories. After my experiments have been completed, the appropriate line from sources.list has been removed. But the library remains installed. After upgrade, new official library does not replace existing version. [Bug 269656] Re: AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP
The main problem is the most of you think that most ununtu users are newbie dumbasses. They will be disappointed when no Fox under the globe will be on the desktop, huh! Will all these users be disapponted reading bla-bla-bla lawyers shit? Will all these users understand what they are signed by click on the I agree checkbox? If the EULA will be displayed only when installing firefox first time to person who installing it, are another users of the system automatically agreed with EULA? What about non-Mozilla patches, are they used in the ubuntu system? Users are not dumbasses. They want stable, quick and web-standards compiant web-browser, not a brand, but *a browser*. It can be any of browsers exist - not just firefox, so: 1. Firefox should be transferred into non-free repository, to provide an option for the brand-ofilies. 2. Debian's Iceweasel should be transferred into the main repository as the replacement for the firefox browser. You can continue rebranding for newbies, naming it The Web Browser (as Totem player simply named as The Video Player), Gnome HIG recommends this, however. 3. The alternative for the Gecko-based browsers should be provided - because the engine is still under Mozilla's control (and we don't predict what they are invited in future), and it is not met to the *quick browser* criteria. New Gnome will be with Epiphany/Webkit browser by default. Good candidate to the default web browser in the Ubuntu. This story reminds me XFree/XOrg license wars. And where now is XFree and where now is XOrg? ;) -- AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269656 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 241659] [NEW] setting WPA2 disables WiFi on boot until manual network restarting
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 8.04 When setting up WPA2 encryption in /etc/network/interfaces by text editor or by Network Manager connection with AP estabishled fine, but after reboot wlan0 interface is not working. Only manual network restarting (sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart) helps to up and configure the interface after booting. The similar problem is described at http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=1351902postcount=2 but a workaround is a dirty hack, IMHO. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: + Ubuntu 8.04 + When setting up WPA2 encryption in /etc/network/interfaces by text editor or by Network Manager connection with AP estabishled fine, but after reboot wlan0 interface is not working. [Bug 51914] Can't install system on raid/lvm
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity The ubuntu live cd succesfully detect my raid and lvm volumes on existing system, but ubuntu live installer shows me only drive partitions as targets for installation - no raid, no lvm volumes. Moreover, i can't enter valid mount points by hand because ubiquity uses menu list rather than simply edit fields for it. Aaaargh!
