Latest flash that worked was 11.2.202.229 version copied from google chrome /opt/google/chrome/PepperFlash directory. The newest one in the repository of precise is 11.2.202.262, and that one is not working either. Flash update version 11.2.202.236 on precise still not working. I have sound in gnomeradio and tvtime with and without padsp! I had a fresh install of 12.04, and installed packets that i saved with synaptic from 10.04. I do not know if that maked any significance, but what i did do, is opened alsamixer and unmuted line and aux outputs. Workaround: downloading google chrome and renaming libgcflashplayer.so from /opt/google/chrome to libflashplayer.so then copying it to /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer, tnx to framil on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11838171#post11838171. Flash magically appeared working in Firefox i do not know how, but by visiting http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html it says i have flash version 11.1.102.55 installed. People on #mplayer irc channel said nobody is interested to implement midi playback in this player, 'cause, as i understand it: 1. it takes many hours of programming 2. it is an old format with no worth meaning (crappy sound) 3. mplayer stands for 'movie player', and not 'media player' I am sorry to hear that, since vlc player, also doesn't play midi files, and the timidity mozplugger didn't worked for me from box. About: There are two aspects here : one is playing MIDI files with gnome-mplayer, the other is playing MIDI files in browser. I believe you agree these are not the same question. I agree, but gecko is proposed to play media files in web browser. I have a gecko web plugin.But on it's preferences in plugin tab states that MIDI Support requires Mplayer support. Gnome-mplayer and gecko- mediaplayer relay on it, so it leads to what you said: What about that idea to officially assert that gnome-mplayer should not be registered anymore as a MIDI player for browsers, and then enforce the need to go to something else for that purpose ? I reported about this problem when i had Ati Radeon 9600xt graphic card with default ubuntu 2D drivers installed. The bug was closed 'cause i changed the graphic card and everything worked fine. Now i have nVidia Geforce 6800GS with 173 nVidia driver installed. Compiz is on, and the display won't go to sleep again after boot-up and or when i use it for some time.
