[Bug 1041009] [NEW] Flash causes X to freeze
Public bug reported: Using flash on Firefox occasionally causes the screen to freeze completely. Something has crashed quite hard. I can log in remotely via ssh but killing firefox, flashplayer, gdm and anything else I can think of does not cause the screen to unfreeze. I normally end up re- booting. Using 12.04 fully patched. AMD64 arch. fglrx video drivers. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041009 Title: Flash causes X to freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1041009/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 859283] Re: non-maximized applications sometimes reset to maximized when restored from the launcher
Yes, I have a dual monitor setup, 64 bit, all updates applied. It happens to me only with Firefox. Creating it is quite simple. Open Firefox, un-maximise with the top left button with the square icon. Minimise it with the button with the line icon. Then hit the firefox icon in the dock on the left and it will come back as maximised. Except that sometimes it doesn't happen like that. I don't know what the difference is. It will go for days where it will go back (correctly) to the same window it was in before it was minimised and I think oh the problem is fixed, then it will change back to the problem behaviour for days or even weeks. It does seem that when the problem is occuring, Firefox always opens maximised and when it is not occuring, Firefox opens to a non-maximised window. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/859283 Title: non-maximized applications sometimes reset to maximized when restored from the launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/859283/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 635577] [NEW] Kernel keeps reporting EH complete for ATA hd disk
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.35-20-generic I read somewhere that earlier version of kernel repored EH complete for ATA drivers incorrectly. So there was no problem with the drive or controller, just the kernel. Since my laptop is running fine (although Vista tends to park diskheads outside the disk) and the only error I see is: ata3.00: configured for UDMA/100 ata3: EH complete I assume this is due to changes in the kernel. [Bug 569900] Re: mount: mounting /dev/md0 on /root/ failed: Invalid argument
I have this exact same issue. 500.1GB seagate disks and 64bit 10.04 server. Have tried installing in a couple of different configurations with no luck. The first time I got the mount: mounting /dev/disk/by-uuid/uuid on /root/ failed: Invalid argument message and I noticed that gub-mkconfig was detecting a uuid that as far as I can tell did not exist on the system. So I changed /etc/default/grub so that I didn't pass uuid as a parameter. After that it wouldn't mount /proc. The system works fine when installed on only one disk. I'll have one or two more goes at installing using some of the ideas here. If it still doesn't work I'll have to give up and use debian. -- mount: mounting /dev/md0 on /root/ failed: Invalid argument https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569900 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 569683] [NEW] video distortion of desktop applet when using scrollbar
Public bug reported: (Upgrade from Karmic to Lucid some weeks ago. Running latest patches). I have two widgets on my kde desktop. When I use the scrollbar in one widget, the other widget gets distorted e.g. the scroll is repeated in the other widget. A block of the same size is scrolled. Hi, Perhaps I can try to run Lucid Lynx. Hi Alessio, I will have a go at the Lucid kernels you provide via the PPA. Is there a big difference between applying the patch to a Vanilla kernel and Ubuntu kernel? I wouldn't mind having some wiki that kind off describes the steppes to take to create an RT Ubuntu kernel (without 'warranty' of course). [Bug 130979] Re: vbetool 100% cpu usage on resume
I have this problem to. I'm using Karmic on an HP Dv2 laptop. I have the same issue with suspend/resume as the initial poster - I have to switch virtual terminals and then back to get output then vbetool uses (close to) 100% CPU. After that killing the vbetool post process causes another one to be spawned. Using killall vbetool causes the video display to crash at point I need to switch virtual terminals again and then vbetool gets restarted. Also, suspend resume only seems to work the first time. I can't do it a again. -- vbetool 100% cpu usage on resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130979 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I starts fine now. First time and second time I started it it crashed. I remember that I have also started the client itself, after the prefernces app crashed two times Possible solution: start 'ubuntuone-client-applet' from a commandline and close it start 'ubuntuone-client-preferences' from the system-preferences menu. [Bug 442081] [NEW] Loop device with root filesystem cannot be unmounted during shutdown
Public bug reported: Have installed ubuntu 9.04 using wubi (put wubi.exe and iso in same directory to install). Upgraded to 9.10 karmic development branch using update-manager -d. Upgrade went fine, but when system is now shutdown, shutdown procedure hangs. The problem is that the loop device cannot unmount the device that is running my root disk (20G image mounted on loop device). Pressing ctrl-alt-del produces two more shutdown messages. One is about deactivating swap.but that one does not succeed either... So problem is in kernel / loop device or the shutdown order..which is configured in either the kernel or some shutdown script? [Bug 46228] Re: Orinocco card does not work
There is a thread with people having the same problem on the Ubuntu forums: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=150627 The problem is that the orinocco and the host_ap drivers were both loaded. Blacklisting the host_ap drivers as suggested in the thread fixes the problem. It shouldn't be loading both those drivers though. -- Orinocco card does not work https://launchpad.net/bugs/46228 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
