[Bug 846025] [NEW] panel autohide not working in specific multihead setup
Public bug reported: I'm using a bottom panel with the autohide feature in my xfce4 setup which is working fine using only one output 1024x768. When I'm enabling my second screen which has a higher resolution of 1280x1024 the bottom panel stays hidden all the time. I think that the higher height of second screen is used by xfce4-panel to react on mouse actions but obviously i cannot reach that position on the smaller screen (height of 768) which contains the panel. I don't have a test machine but has anyone tried disabling EXA Pixmaps with the radeon driver? *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 644644 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/644644 A few notes/experiences concerning the problem: I firstly ecountered this new Maverick bug on a Samsung Netbook N210 with Intel Audio Hardware which is quite slow compared to my Lenovo X61s. It seems to me that the bug is only occuring when the system is under heavy load. The reason for commenting was that I ecountered the bug today also on my Lenovo X61s with Intel Audio Hardware: It happened when the harddisk needs to stop because of the Harddrive Active Protection System. I think this could mean that there is a new Maverick problem that lets the combination totem/pulseaudio stop when there is video/audio stream data missing due to high load or disk freezes... I'm affected by the bug as well. Same symptomatic as decribed by BP_CH. The proposed fix of reinstalling rsyslog didn't work for me.
