We also got this strange problem. The funniest thing is, that after the
upgrade from 5.1.6.1 to 5.2.1.3 we got the problem . So maybe a 5.2 related
problem on windows server ?
What I found out was , that when I disabled all backup Lan adaptors ( only
enabled the production network card), the web

Hi C!
Version 5.2.2.0 is not a patch level, it's a maintenance level.
You van find it at

For your weekly full backups, run archives with a retention of 2 weeks.
Then the daily incrementals with the appropriate copygroup settings (7
active, 7 inactive?, retainextra 30?, retainlast 90?) for what you want out
of those.

Think twice, type once.

I can get this command to show me what is backed up:
q backup /image_data50/*/05/*.tar -inactive=yes -subdir=yes
But when I change it to a restore command, I get this:
tsm restore '/image_data50/*/05/*.tar' -inactive=yes -subdir=yes
Restore function invoked.

Hallo,
How can I get an install of the Admin command line, dsmadmc, for
Windows? We use aix servers and I have the baclient installed on my
windows laptop. I would like to get dsmadmc working on the laptop
directly, without telnetting etc.. to the aix servers.
Thanks,
Matt.
Install the windows ITSM client. If you do a selective install, you will be
able to select the administrative client.

Karel

Hey Warren,
'dsmadmc', otherwise known as the TSM admin client, is installed as part of the TSM
client install for Windows, but *not* as part of the default installation options.
When installing the client from CD or wherever, you have to choose the custom install
options, and then ensure that
Does anyone know which version of TDP for Domino, if any, is compatible

Hi
How can one see which volumes belong to a particular backupset?
Thanks

Hmm, I was afraid of that...
That snippet from the manual is indeed what I am seeing, but I
find it interesting that the q backup... command will return the list
of files, but the restore... will fail with the same file spec. You
would think (hope) that they would behave the same.
Hi *SM-ers!
I have a Sun Solaris node for which I found something very strange. I issued
a select * from backups where node_name='NODE' and I forwarded the output to
a file. In that file I see some very old backup files which have a very
strange path. The filespace name for such a file is

Thanks for the nudge. I was pretty sure it was in the client installs, hence the

Hi all,
I'm trying to exclude a group of filesystems from backup but not from

Hi,
As a passport advantage user I have seen this offering change quite a

two entries for TSM Extended Edition one is 5.2.2 AP E-Assembly the
other is Non-AP E-Assembly. Still other items have a few offerings and

Hmm, I was afraid of that...
True,
I was thinking that since I could extract a list of files with
the q backup command, I could then plug them into a list and use the
-filelist option.
My only concern with doing it that way is that according to the
docs, the restore will go through the list,
