Buonasera a tutti, (ben ritrovati!) Bug#871553: systemd service doesn't honour /etc/default/varnish
Source: varnish Version: 5.0.0-7.1 Severity: normal Tags: patch Hello, today I installed varnish on my production server and, while trying to configure it, it inexplicably failed to follow the options given in /etc/default/varnish. I found out that the mentioned file is only honoured by /etc/init.d/varnish; while /lib/systemd/system/varnish.service simply provides a (reasonable!) set of defaults. See the attached proposed patch. A couple of notes on that, though: 1) regarding VARNISH_STORAGE_FILE, in /etc/default/varnish it uses $INSTANCE, which in turn is $(uname -n). I don't really know how to launch subscripts from systemd service files, so I simply put "instance" there, please have a look whether it's feasible or not. 2) always regarding the storage type, i.e. the "-s" switch of varnishd, in /etc/default/varnish and varnish.service two different defaults are used. Please settle on one (the former uses file, the latter uses malloc). Bug#870413: greenwich: Depends on obsolete libgnome2-perl that will go away during the Buster cycle
Hey, please proceed in removing it! Thanks, David Il 01 Ago 2017 21:00,ha scritto: Package: greenwich Severity: important Hi David, as said on July 20 (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=868395#15), greenwich is one of the very few blockers that currently prevent us from removing the obsolete libgnome2-perl and libgnome2-vfs-perl from the archive. I see the last upload happened in 2012, and the upstream home page is not available at the moment. David, is there a chance that greenwich stops depending on obsolete GNOME 2 stuff during the Buster cycle, or should we remove it from the archive, or do you have another idea in mind? Context: ideally I would like to sort this out during DebCamp, so a quick answer would be appreciated. But of course I understand if you can't react this fast :) Cheers, -- intrigeri

Hey Felix, sorry for not replying before. I have a new upstream version ready(ish) for unstable, but due to bandwidth constraints (I'm currently using my mobile phone to connect), I can do it only on Thursday afternoons. And today, my laptop decided to die because of an half-completed (unnoticed) upgrade. I lost all the afternoon fixing it :/ Next Thursday I should be able to upload it. In any case, last week I managed to push my changes to git; the latest commit is 84f4765, branch master. It just needs some build-testing (I recall it was fine, since I already refreshed the patches), and an upload. :) So if you want, feel free to make an upload for josm. Otherwise, I'll be technically impaired until next Thursday. ;) -- . ''`.
