Do I have it right?
The Brother DS-640 is a USB-interfaces document scanner. I've been
attempting to use it with the Xsane app. All I get is a 1/2" vertical
stripe.
AFAIK there is no option to Xsane that effects the displayed scan.
OTOH, I've tried two DS-640 with the same result
Any pointers? Thanks.

New install of Fedora 35. Any time a link is opened -- say from a
terminal -- Firefox is opened. The default browser is set in "Default
Applications" to chrome. Is there another place where the default browser
is set?

When Fedora 32 was installed on my laptop it did not creat a wi-fi device
(aka wlan0). How should I go about creating the appropriate device?
Thanks.

Would that I could. AFAIK those files are no longer used in Fedora 35.

Device vendor insists on a netmask 255.255.0.0, so
% ifconfig eno1 169.254.10.6 netmask 255.255.0.0
which changes netmask, but it soon reverts to the original
value 255.255.255.255
ifdown/ifup does not change the situation
Any ideas?

It appears that I should try rawhide. Short of removing the elevant
packages, is there anything else that I should know about making the
transition?

I've just installed Fedora 35 and have discovered to my dismay that
previously-working (not at all sophisticated) audio no longer works.
Is there a 'Getting Started With pipewire' and/or wireplumber somewhere? Or
should they 'just work' and I need to check my connections?
Thanks.

I have an ethernet connection (to a SiliconDust box) that requires a

Yes, it has worked on Fedora 32. The hardware is unchanged. I'll need to
verify the dhcp server
