This morning (26 Jan) there have been two text RBA reports of WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS in Summerhill State Forest, Town of Summerhill, in the southeast corner of Cayuga County. First at 9:16 Bob McGuire reported 12 of them fly over him and 2 land near him along Hoag St and at 10:50 Richard Tkachuck
With the approach of snow/rain for this afternoon, I elected to get in
a walk along Salt Road this morning. I encountered numerous chickadees
Red-breasted Nuthatches, more than any other day this winter. At the
corner of Salt Hoag at about 9:15 I had several birds fly over,

I stopped by Myers Pt. from ~4:30 - 5 PM today and saw lots of gulls and
Mallards by Myers beach. Many Coots in the marina area, with Mallards and
Canada Geese.
North of Salt Point were hundreds of Redheads, 40-50 Ring-necked Ducks, a

Last evening around 4:30 we looked for the Ovid snowy owl once again, with no

This morning Blue Jays seemed to be everywhere on Burns Road in Brooktondale.
For a few minutes, there were 19 BLUE JAYS perched at the very top of a tall
oak tree. Many were giving the same two-noted vocalization, along with a sound
reminiscent of a Crow's comb call but quieter and more rapid.
