On the way home from birding the Montezuma area yesterday afternoon, we saw a white wing Turkey Vulture over the DEC check station. It drifted low over the station, so we were able to get an excellent look at the white pattern. It eventually moved north and out of sight. Suzanne in Ithaca

As of about 10 minutes ago, these birds flew off over the woods along the powerlines/parallel to route 13. But they seem to like that spot, so it's worth checking every so often. Other birds of note in that spot include singing PURPLE FINCH and FIELD SPARROW, along with several Phoebes. - Brad

Update (5:30): The Bohemian Waxwings are gone for now. A large flock (100+) of Bohemian Waxwings came over fairly high from the north (airport area), and then all the close-in birds started calling loudly and they all took off and joined the large flock heading south. All except for 1 bird that
