Hi Geoffrey, Joss, DPMT
There's been no substantive uploads of this package in the past 8 years,

Hi
This is https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=854801
Since this issue is now cropping up regularly, I'd say it's something
which needs to be fixed for stretch, thus marking the bug as RC.

in the meantime, serious bug #863195 (FTBFS in test suite) has been
filed. It could be fixed by unblocking the package.
However, golang 1.8.2 which will include a security issue is

for that version to hit unstable.

Hi,
two weeks ago I requested unblocking of golang-1.8/1.8.1-1 (#862158)
which if granted would solve the issue.
Cheers,

Have you tried building the package instead? I find that ‘make install’ often
doesn’t do what you expect when a project is engineered to work as a package.
Try the following:
- run apt-get source and apt-get build-sep as you did
- Edit rules.real in the debian directory, you can add configure

Hello Mathieu,
It is true that vtk originally installs the vtk6.jar files into the
system library path that is indicated by
vtkWrappingJava_RUNTIME_LIBRARY_DIRS, but since this does not conform
to Debian policy, vtk6.jar is installed in /usr/share/java/ via

Hello,
tried to reproduce the issue.
I think the problem is that in de::File::parent the method maybeAs()
is called on a NULL pointer.
With the attached patch the crash does not happen.
