Looking at bug, 545594, as Simon rightly suggested, can maintainer
file request for package removal. Freeze is approaching near and we
either need to fix the bug or let it go (No upstream, RC Bug from more
than 1 year..)

I have almost same system (amd64) and it is working fine. 7x13bold
font is defined in /etc/X11/app-defaults/XOsview setting.
Also, are you in have Desktop, try it with Debian or
Applications--System Tools--Xosview menu too.
