I was looking at the FT-920 manual aand it seems like you have to set the mode
to DATA-USB when using the data jack. There are some other settings after that
that I didn't really follow since I've never had my hands on that radio. See
pages 55 and 56 of the manual and maybe it will

So, I take from this that you need to make sure that the radio is
data usb , is it ? I think if the rig is in plain USB mode, audio
is not passed from the data port.

This is really simple, hope I do not insult you..
Have you double checked that your line out from the sound card is
actually working and the levels from it are sufficient to drive the
radio ? I have run in to some laptops , and some Compaq desktops,
that have insufficient audio output levels and
Last question first...I have NOT tried the FSK RTTY at all. I will do that
and let you know tomorrow.
Computer wiz I'm not Andy, so I could screw anything up! :-) I have tried
moving the sliders through there range and no luck. How else can you test
the audio output level?
