I am trying to get WinDRM working. I don't know the version number, but
it's the one included in windrm-23-jul-08.zip.
It is running on a Dell laptop (Windows XP Home), with a:
1. built-in SigmaTel Audio soundcard.
2. built-in QuickCam for Dell Notebook microphone.
3. USB telephone handset.

It would be difficult to pause without notice with DV due to the latency
issue. This is one of the reasons that I do not expect DV to ever become
all that popular on HF. And if there are attempts to improve the
sensitivity and robustness, the latency would have to become even more

A LITTLE REMINDER ABOUT TXING DIGITAL VOICE...
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE ALC DEFLECTION AT
A MINIMUM WITH WINDRM. DO NOT OVERDRIVE YOUR RIG
OR AMPLIFIER AS THIS WILL CAUSE THE SNR TO DROP.

I uploaded the DLL to the files section but then discovered that the melp
dll is copyright protected so I took it down. There is a way to build the
melp dll file one's self. I am testing that out tonight, if I can do it
anyone can!

in the windrm folder on the desk top and now have no windrm .exe file so I
have no clue what I have done.

Had fun playing with the WinDRM variant this evening on 40 meters.
The audio quality isn't the same as MELP mode, but Mel (K0PFX/4) sounded
pretty good. His PC mic works well and seems to improve the audio.

You can use WinDRM to transmit digital voice and images in the
Phone/Image subbbands. You can use WinDRM to transmit data in the
RTTY/Data subbands.
