Hello All
This is just a quick note to advise all Flex enthusiasts that the product is
now available for sale in Australia (and can be shipped to other parts of
Oceania as well)
The Radio Exchange website (at www.vk3ajj.com) now has a page dedicated to Flex
radio and product availability and
Mark,
I found this to be true also, and I got the same results with the
search engine. I don't know if it searches the manual either, but
the details are pretty well hidden in the manual too, unless of
course, you are really familiar with the manual. Several pointed out
where you could find
If you are using the Adobe PDF reader, it has a very nice search
capability built in. Just like your browser, you use CTRL+F (FIND) to
bring up the search box. Type in Tx Image or Image Rejection and all
searches point to PDF page 97 with all the pertinent info.

Adobe Reader 8.0 has a much better search function than 7.0. It is
worth the update.

Chas,
It may be me (and as the editor I'll admit to not being impartial ;-), but
there is an adobe bookmark as well as a specific table of contents entry
directly pointing directly to the transmit image rejection section on page
91. If you can't find it easily amongst the numerous bookmarks,

Jim,
I agree 100%, I thought the idea of including the manuals in the KB
search was really a worthwhile suggestion. The idea of doing a single
search and getting hits in the manual along with individual
contributions outside the manual would make the KB search very useful.

I also love the nice Wave Recorder that K2OX has made, and use that version
often.
Any plans to implement that enhancement too?

source code for the Flex radio via svn and I have a SDR1k. Can anyone
point me in the right direction (folder, container)to the scanning code
that was removed form SDR software? I am using Ubuntu and want to study

I have been using an SDR1000 for about a year. I recently moved to Carlsbad,
CA and am temporally living in an apartment. I set up a simple dipole but the
SDR-1000 is seeing a much higher noise level than my other radio, an FT-1000MP.
I have tried all the usual fixes and talked with he folks
Tnx Ken,
I didn't know how to use it. I will use it to good advantage in the future.

You may have already tried this, but if you haven't, connect your SDR to
a dummy load and then to the antenna and determine what the increase in
noise is. Do the same for the FT-1000MP and see if the relative
increase is the same. Also, if you have an antenna tuner, preferably a

Unlike many other radios, if you're using the Flex S-Meter to check
bandwidth, then I don't think you need to turn the AGC off. If I recall
correctly, the S-Meter samples the data prior to the AGC (otherwise, you'd
see the meter's response change with different AGC time constants, and I
