A manual notch would be fantastic, but I'd settle for ANF in CW mode in

I thought I read somewhere that: a) VspMgr was currently the preferred virtual

I finally got around to installing third-party software yesterday. VACv4.09
went smoothly. (I'm copying digital modes on DM780 very well, thank you.)
The one thing I miss the most about my old rig compared to the F5KA is
having a variable notch filter.the automatic one is virtually useless
against deliberate QRMers (and there are a LOT of them around!).this came to
prominence in my desire for one during my recent operation as 3D2A.

I think it deposits the VSPMgr install program in the DDUtil folder but you

As far as I know, it ask the question if you want to run VSPMgr. when
you install DDUtil. Hate to state the obvious but even if you install
it during the DDUtil install, you still have to run it and set up the
comm ports!

An ANF does not make sense in CW mode. If the ANF is operating properly, then

VSPmgr does work on 64-bit systems.
For reasons I won't go into here, Steve only sends the info on how to get
VSPmgr upon request. Contact Steve, K5FR, directly.

I have found that VSPMgr works perfectly fine on Windows 7 64bit. I have been
running version 1.0.1.006 for months and have
installed it on many other Flex PC's for colleagues.
Just make sure you do not install it to the Program Files folder. Install it
to C:\VspMgr and it works a treat.

Also, make sure you run it as Administrator in Windows XP Compatibility Mode
too. This information is listed in the DDUtil Wiki
page for VSPM:

John,
Thanks for the response.
My observations are somewhat different on my F3K.
Agree on the inability to ANF if the signal is within 25-50 Hz. And I can
use the 25 Hz PB.
What I have frequently observed is an S9 carrier that is 200 Hz off, and the
DX is S4 and working simplex +/- 300 Hz
Well, after monitoring the reflector for over a year I'm now zero for two on

The later versions of DDUtil include a facility to launch the VSPmgr control

Thanks, Ray. As usual, my written communication fell short of the mark.

Mark,
Okay, I understand the issue.
Too bad you don't have a F5K w/RX2. Then you could do what you want --
listen to the DX with RX1 narrow filter -- listen to the pile-up with RX2
with a wider filter. You would still have to deal with the QRM in RX2, but
at least you could still copy the DX.
Ray,
Well, at least now I know what to ask the wife for when my birthday comes
