Missed this thread before… The Filmo 16 dates from the 1930s and there were many iterations over the years, including the military models used by combat photogs in WWII. Those weren’t actually model 70’s, but basically the same guts. Only the later Filmos are really modern enough to be

here in Europe a lot of people go for the russian Krasnogorsk 3 camera as a budget option. You get them around 150 USD plus shipping on eBay, often from Ukraine and Belarus. These cameras were manufactured in vast numbers until 1993 and many of them have never been used. There are two versions,

Thanks for the info! The single frame option isn't necessarily necessary... as I mentioned I have a Revere and it does have single frame ability. I'm looking for an alternative to a bolex. I've been trying to get one for years, but always end up out bid or the price getting driven up too high.

In WWII these were also called Combat Cameras. A tank could run over it, leaving the camera man dead yet the film and camera would survive. There is a great shot of the Allies first landing on Normandy showing battle action. It is evident that everyone on the ship was killed yet this amazing

That was my first 16mm camera. It is a work horse, however I do not believe you can do a single Frame. I had a film 70da. It most likely is not good for animation, it has a slow speed but not a single frame to my knowledge. Dominic > On Feb 18, 2019, at 3:16 PM, Nicole Baker wrote: > > Hey

Hey frameworkers, I'm looking to upgrade from my Revere 15mm camera. The filmo 70d* has caught my eye... is anyone familiar? I'm especially interested if it has single frame capability so I can use it for animation. Thanks! ___ FrameWorks mailing list
