Strange error

I have a strange error. Normally when you compile the complete system, the first line of /etc/motd is being adjusted telling you the time and version you just compiled. On one server this is not being done. What is the problem. Which programm adjust the motd file when compiling? Thanks Jack

This morning I tried to install BIND, the DNS server. I downloaded the handbook (English version) and tried to follow the instructions giving in the handbook. But the handbook is outdated OR FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE-p2 is not correct. I'm missing make-localhost in /etc/namedb. Can any help me???
