On my system (FreeBSD 7.3 AMD64, system kernel current as per today)
it takes awully long to start up gnome (2.30) - awfully long meaning
2-3 minutes (this is on a Intel quadcore-CPU with 4GB RAM!)
In my /etc/rc.conf I've got
gnome_enable=YES
I've already ruled out the usual suspect being
