It offers 4 backends: XML (default) SQLite MySQL/MariaDB PostgreSQL You have to install the desired backend libs in most cases to be offered the option of using it. The default requires no special effort. Many Linux distros also come with SQLite support by default, so mileage varies.

That was exactly what I meant. As I said, it wasn't clear what your issue was. It sounded like you were concerned that other files showed inside the app; my suggestion was based on that. Gnucash is hard coded to open the last file. You can rewrite the code if you like, or you could do as

Unfortunately GnuCash doesn't work that way AFAIK. Depending on your OS you may be able to create separate launchers in the Desktop menufor each specific file and name them accordingly. I know this will work on Linux Mint and likely Ubuntu variants but not sure on other OS. The command issued by

Hi Frank, I’ll jump in because I have the same issue on a Raspberry Pi. It won’t let me update beyond 4.4 in Flathub, because it doesn’t detect any newer versions. I’ve run the commands you sent, with the output redirected to files, but the files don't show any fields beyond what Parag posted.
