Hi
there,
I really miss a list
of characters that are recognized as seperators between two words when using the
Phrase List feature of Content Filtering in IMail 8.0x (Maybe I am blind, but I
wasn't able to find one). I guess it is at least "space" and ".", but
what more? Is "/" also ok,
In 8.0, special characters are treated as word
delimiters. So my.mother$is$$$...here in an email would match "my mother
is here" in the phrase list. In 8.1, you have two choices with
the phrase list. If normalization is not turned on, the phrase in the list
needs to match the phrase in the
I have a user wanting to have mail auto retrieved from another account
and then be filtered here for spam and virus and dropped right into
his 'central' account on our domain. His ISP will not forward his
mail. He stated SpamCop will do this function. How does one achieve
this

Looks like Merak has this function built-in:

mxGuard for IMail
Adds anti-spam *and* anti-virus capabilities to your IMail server.

Thanks, but how do I retain Declude? Can this be run in conjunction
with it? Looking at the online documentation, it looks like this is
not the case? Can the popper feature be run as stand-alone? Will it
deliver mail directly to the mailbox or properly through Declude SMTP
filtering?
mxGuard is licensed for the IMail server it will run on (whether or not you
choose to use it as a spam/virus filter or just as a command line tool for
the pop features).
The pop retrieve feature will indeed work with whatever you have set up and
will not bypass your declude installation.

Hi,
I have a problem with a program alias that should send me an email:
'---
' Set the shell object
Set Shell = CreateObject(wscript.shell)
' Send confirmation of update email code here
retval = Shell.Run(D:\IMail\imail1.exe -f D:\IMail\Sniffer\text.txt -s
'Sniffer Update OK' -t '[EMAIL
That
gives you 3 different methods of detecting spam. Why don't you have a simple
check in a box for all 3 so that instead of choosing 1, so ALL 3 or any
combination thereof could be run? All the code for all 3 is obviously written. 5
minutes worth of coding could make it happen.
The only ways I know of to automagically block IP's after so many errors
in such and such a time period is not a function of IMail at this time. I
know you can do it with Black Ice Defender. I also think IMGate has a
feature like this Len?..

As far as I know program aliases need to be exe's with no parameters.
I'm shure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Ok I sent this originally last Friday and only saw one reply which was
an out of office one. Are these questions too hard or has noone else on
the list tried to achieve either result before?
Either way I need an answer for our MD before the software is purchased
so could someone help me out
If I remember what I've read on this list you need to run your script from a
batch file.

The way Imail list serv works is that you can append a footer message to every
mail sent to that list,
That footer can contain a mailto: link to unsubscribe the recipient which will
remove them from the mail list, not maintain a separate do not send list.
The mailto would be like this: TO

We are considering purchase of IMail to replace out Eudora

By my numbers, about 85% of the posts to this list are text/plain only

If you have an actual website running on the same machine of course
things are changed, but I guess then your front page is not the
IMail redirector ;)...
The front page of a host-header-based virtual server can still be the
IMail redirector.

What I would like to do is create an additional WebForm for
feedback. Once the user fills this form out and hits the submit
button I would like the forms contents to be submitted to the IMail
SMTP to be emailed to the admin.
It's fairly simple to draw an alternate Compose page
