: RE: [IMail Forum] Firefox 2.0.0.1 and WebMail ICS2006
What problem did you have with Smartermail that would make you switch
back?
From looking at 4.x of Smartermail it has so many features that it puts
Imail back two years already to catch up.

Smarter Mail is very to slow for us...
After using Imail AND SmarterMail, I think that Imail is faster and
easier to manage.
The webmail interface on SM is to bulky for us and the delivery delay

I'm surprised you find SmarterMail slow. We use SmarterMail and IMail
and
really can't tell the difference in responsiveness for either POP3 or
web
mail between the two.

Make sure you disable all extensions and add-ons to eliminate one of
them as
the problem. AdBlock is usually a culprit here.

And form what I have seen poorly written extension consume LOTS of memory. I
had a few users that left a browser run overnight with a Theme and some tab
extension and the browser had consumed 2GB of memory each

Yep, I'm a Firefox fanboy myself. I can leave it open for days or even
weeks without an issue. Firefox add-ons
100% with you!
FF is a great browser and add-ons are great
sure, you can get bad
ones, but it's up to us to filter the bad one from the good one
I go with FF also. It did have a memory leak earlier that required
closing it every day or so to free up memory, but version 2 is much
better.
Everyone's mileage may vary.we
are pretty concerned about security and misuse. The GMail space
extension is a great one, but we found people offloading company files
that way and since it was untraceable, it was just another reason to
yank it.

Vincent,
I'm using the same version of Firefox and it works fine with an IMail
9.1 installation I have an account on. No issues selecting messages,
and no issues resizing windows or column's. I haven't heard of this
before either.
