I have searched the KB and reread the manual but have come up empty
as to how to allow MailTo's to go through and still use settings
that allow only authenticated users use the SMTP server.
Has anyone run into this before and is there a fix?
A fix for what, exactly? You're
Using iMail 7.15, with checked values of No Mail Relay, Check Mail Sender
and Auto-Deny Possible Hack Attempts on a Win2000 server. Also running IIS
5 with several domains hosted.
Neither MailTo tags nor form method=post successfully sends mail. If the
email address is local, no error
Thank you Scott. I will check it out next time it occurs.

Is anyone using Imail Declude? Mine seems to be hanging lately, requiring
a reboot of the server. That seems to fix the problem. Until it happens

Thanks Jean

Mark,
POP3 is a "retrieval" protocol and has nothing to
do with the standard sending of mail. What do the SMTP logs show for this
user?

It looks like you are not running the latest version of IMail. You'll need
to upgrade to the latest

Who is their provider...meaning who do they connect
to for their internet access? Many of the larger providers are now blocking
outbound SMTP to any mail server they do not operate. If you don't see them
connecting in your log, have try to telnet to port 25 from a command prompt on

Then look at their firewall for outbond port 25
rules. Can they telnet to the mail
server via port 25?

If stopping/starting the service doesn't clear this
then I would have to look at hardware, typically network subsystem (NIC) and you
have to reset the server to reset the hardware

That's if the hardware has a problem with POP only. I haven't seen

Actually, IMail only shows up to IMail 7.15HF3 -- I would recommend
downloading that. IMail v7 didn't have nearly as many reports of problems
with the SMTP service crashing as IMail v8.
Sorry Scott that was a typo, we are on 7.15HF3. I have at least 2 SMTP
crashes per month requiring a reboot.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately, no -- you might want to check the archives, or contact
Ipswitch. I know some people were having a problem with (presumably)
incorrectly formatted E-mails
