In the doc on moving IMail it says to change the IP of the new server to
the same IP as the old server after everything is moved and the reg keys
are imported. Is this absolutely necessary? I want to move IMail to a
new server, but can't change the IP without jumping through a bunch of
HelloI'm back.
So I am back at the company I left and they are still running Imail Server.
It looks like version 9.03 when I look at the service sin the web page. I
would like to upgrade to the latest and greatest to see if there are any
improvements. So this entails two questions:
Thanks. I believe that would be easier than dealing with all the other
things I would have to do to change the IP on the new box since it
provides some other services that are IP related.

All,
I have been trying to empty the deleted items folder on of my accounts and
it does nothing when I click on Empty Deleted Items. If I select them and
delete them, they disappear from the view, but never actually go away. Is
there something I am missing? Is there a workaround for this?
I don't think so, but it's easier in terms of getting Imail back up and
running as the registry already has the IP address(s) configured. Otherwise,
you have to go through the registry and change the IP address listings to
reflect the IP of the new server before starting the services. See here:
I suggest upgrading to .1 (you mentioned you were running 9.03 on another
thread) as some issues with the .xml files were taken care of in .04 and .1.
Also, I would try deleting the .xml file for the deleted items mailbox and
see if that fixes the problem.

I've seen this before and it was related to a locked mailbox. Try this:

Hi,
It's really hard to believe, but the arriving spam is increasing every week.
The last two days it was a real attack. Especially this stock stuff

I haven't noticed a thing.. spam is rapidly becoming a memory :)

Hey Tripp!
Umm.no go. I deleted the XML and the problem persists. I restarted all
Imail services as well as all IIS services, and the problem still persists.
Anything else I can try?

I've seached previous threads, but I can't find a place that kind tells you
how to install ASSP with Imail. Either I'm too dense to relate what is out
there for Imail (Most definitely could be the case!) or I can't find it.
Can anyone point me to a place that will let me know how to integrate
I just deleted the Deleted.mbx, uid and xml files. I deleted all mail in
the INBOX and it was moved to the deleted items folder as expected. When I
went to the deleted items folder, and click on Empty Deleted Folder, it
refreshes and nothing is emptied/removed.

restart services and it will let go of the file.

This is a good place to start.

ASSP is open source, free, and heavilly developed. It is however, not well
documented. The initial learning curve is steep so don't
Really the best thing to do is to go to
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=69172
you can d/l the source files there... and there's links to the forums on
that page as well. I think there's a fair number of people running Imail
and ASSP, and it's not terribly difficult to set up.
Hi,
Now this is a hijacked thread ;-)
My question was, if other people habe also more (of course captured) spam.

Travis,
Since you are already at the 9.0x level and current version is 9.10, things
should be pretty painless. As for improvements, yes, but I don't think real
big increases there, mostly bug/feature fixes. Actually, the version is
technically, 2006.1, so a little KB search yields the release

I have done the upgrade and it seems to have fixed the web performance
problem, but now it seems like SMPT might be having issues. People are
having to restart Outlook here and there to get outogin mail to send.
