I have to agree with Paul. This is a separate issue. Issues like this often have a firmware component (such as the BIOS ACPI primitives or touchpad firmware). Even if the messages are the same I wouldn't categorize the error messages from another identically with the problems from this specific

It's been over a year that I have this Dell XPS 13 9360. And this touchpad `DLL075B:01 06CB:76AF` with the same issue. I had this issue with both touchscreen enabled and disabled in the BIOS. I'm currently on 18.04 and kernel 5.0.0-25-generic. For my case this issue happens most often soon after

Haha, ok ok. Recreated it in 16.04 by applying pressure to the trackpad with my palm. It seems better now on both versions but I do suspect a hw issue. Dell is coming out to replace it under warranty. Hoping it's not a design flaw that impacts all touchpads ,, or maybe they have a newer

Solid hour so far , zero problems. Usually the problem would have already happened on 17.10. I believe there is a bug, that's not to say some people don't have a hardware issue, it doesn't seem to apply in my case. I'm rolling my install on this notebook back to 16.04 lts and I will report back

Spoke too soon. Happened again, downgraded BIOS to 2.2.1 , works fine now. I can tell this is the correct fix because on initial ubuntu login the mouse would hang for a few seconds before even becoming usable. Now it doesn't do that at all and no other glitches seem to be happening. -- You

..and just when I was about to downgrade the bios, it seems to be working. I cleaned some crud out from the sides of the trackpad. Could have been it. Maybe driver config can be changed to ignore the edges of the trackpad to avoid this? If anything changes I will update. -- You received this
