[lace] Wearing and Caring for Lace

A recent post about wearing lace got me to thinking. I have a lace stole I have worn several times and now has some soiling near the center back from my neck. What is the best way to launder it. I have heard and read many recommendations but would like to hear from someone who cleans the lace

Please don't leave. I used to be on Arachne but it got not nice. I left. After many years I have come back. It isn't as much fun but if interesting people leave it will not get better and maybe fold. We need less drawn out fussing, more David emails and a bit of humor. Arachne is very dry now.
