As Andrew said it should, but currently it won't work.
The 6.0 series has not been made
it should work.

Hi.
You should increase /tmp size (it can be set in leaf.cfg that is placed
in the root of your storage).

I tried to use the automatic upgrade with my leaf-box 5.2.4 Rev.1.
First I replaced wget with the one from 5.2.5 because auf the https-issue.
Execution of upgrade --release 5.2.5 (little steps) brings me:
