The solution I’ve found is a temporary one, but effective. Home Depot sells a power called “Rat Magic”. It doesn’t kills them, but it does repel them. I have to reapply it after rain, but they do disappear right after I sprinkle it around. And - it smells like cloves to me, so no bad odor. -
