Update: both Ubuntu and Lubuntu installed from their respective 10.04 CDs do
not have any eth0-related entries in /etc/network/interfaces. Lubuntu
installed from 10.04 mini iso does have the usual:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
which causes NetworkManager to not manage eth0 by default. Looks
I was wondering about the errors generated by a package update. After
reinstalling the ppa, these are the errors that remain:
Ignoring file 'lubuntu-desktop-ppa-maverick.list.save' in directory
'/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extensionIgnoring

I noticed in Lubuntu 10.10 that pyneighborhood is missing from default
installation and if I click that Network Drives from the pcmanfm it says
Error: The specified location is not supported.
I tried to locate some bug raports regarding this problem, but I didnt
find.

Hi list,
The development of LXAppearance2 is almost finished.
The only things missing are color schemes and removing installed themes.
Oiginally adjustment of gtk+ stock icon sizes was planned, but it's a
rarely needed feature and it's hard to make good UI for it.
So this one is cancelled. Other

Hi,
I made some updates to the LXDE PPA :
https://launchpad.net/~lxde/+archive/ppa
Now, versions available in Maverick are backported to Lucid. It's useful
if you want to test versions from Maverick without upgrading all your
system. It's also useful for people who want to report bugs to test

Hi
I've looked to several pages (the most complete is
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1472896) and there's no way to get
my 3g modem to work... is there something that i'm missing?
As i've said in the forum (that shows as Solved) i tried the solution and
nothing happens.

That's pretty awesome timing, I was pretty much all set to make a new
partition and have a 'play' with the mini-iso :-)
I'll put it on to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/DocumentationHelp/MinimalInstall 'as is', it
can always be edited if the need arises.
Thanks,
Phill.

Yorvik,
that 'solution' does not fix the default behavior of NM to not manage
interfaces defined in /etc/network/interfaces. I think it may enable the
whole NM management system when and if it is somehow turned off (screwed
up?) but this is not the original case.

Hi Mikhail,
Is the proposed change
*gksudo leafpad /etc/network/interfaces*
and edit it from
*auto eth0*
*iface eth0 inet dhcp*
to
*auto lo*
*iface lo inet loopback*
Save, quit reboot?
Alternatively, if you have a different working solution, would you email it
me so I can update the wiki page.
Hi Julien,
when we were looking at the reporting bugs coding, I had a further dig down
that page. Under Contributing to the lubuntu project
*Reporting bugs* (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/ReportingBugs) the page
you were working on seems fine.
*Translations*

non-existant page, would be okay to add that page and then split it
into two parts; the lxde parts of lubuntu would point to the

Basically you only need gvfs, gvfs-backends, and a working dbus.
