Another issue is the effort that would be required for a centralized
DB/authority model. At the moment, I'm leaning towards a P2P model.
A pseudo-P2P system can be implemented w/o a complicated full-fledged P2P

The API does not allow one to get a list of deleted revisions for a namespace
sorted 1st by date and using the drstart and drend parameters. Basically, I
need to use drstart/drend in mode 3 and sorted by date most recent first. I

would rather them use a separate tab for the search rather than using the

I'm using DISPLAYTITLE to change the title of my pages, but I would like to
make the links to those pages that appear on the What links here page to also
be changed so they match, i.e., display the link text as the same value used
for DISPLAYTITLE in the associated page.
The last edit time as well as the times on the history page are showing UTC
instead of local times. Example, the bottom of a page will show:
This page was last modified on 20 December 2012, at 16:12.
when it was edited at 09:14-7:00 local time.

such as if someone moves the page?

The MediaWiki API can handle MediaWiki redirects, so it should work.

I have a unique situation and would like to rename the Category functionality
and call it Topic instead. IOW, everywhere you see a Category or
Categories label on a regular wiki page - such as at the bottom of every page
- I would like the label to be Topic and Topics instead.
Is that

Thanks Arcane, you touched on another question I had; protecting certain
portions of a page from edit. Is there seriously no way to do this at all that
isn't a hack? This would be a deal-breaker, unfortunately. Any suggestions
for other wikis?
