I also knew Richard. Funny I knew him in his professional world first.
He was at Warner Bros. for 25 years. He was head of Theatrical
Research. My first job in the industry was theatrical research at 20th
Century Fox. Richard warmly welcomed me to the club and was generous in
sharing advice
Richard's longtime partner is Mark Winkler who is a well known songwriter and
jazz singer. He has a great album out with Cheryl Bentyne of the Manhattan
Transfer and they work so well together. If you have a chance to google it, he
wrote a song called In a Lonely Place, which is a hauntingly

I too knew Rich to be a very kind, encouraging and smart man. Only by emails
did we communicate, but always thoughtful.
How sad I am to know that he has left us and this hobby but I know that there
can be a blessing in these tragic days. He is beyond the struggle now.

I think that Richard was just the person that people have described here. I
always enjoyed speaking with Richard, and I’m saddened that he has passed. I
remember that he said some
particularly encouraging things to me at a time when I was down and you don’t
forget something like that.

Very sad news. I often heard privately from Richard and he was always
upbeat and supportive. He will be missed.

Truly sorry to hear this. We had some fun exchanges off-list about our
favourite movies and actors, and Richard always seemed an incredibly upbeat
and genuine guy with a great deal of intelligence. One of those people who
makes you feel good, even through an email.
A real loss, my best
Sorry for your loss Sue!
