Susan and I found a Carolina Wren at stop 47 (Zumbro Falls) on my
Frontenac BBS route this morning (Fri., 9 June). It sang many times
during the 3-min. point count, although we couldn't relocate it 1/2 hour
later. The specific location is at the west end of Zumbro Falls on both
sides of Hwy
Today I was on-site from 0615 to 1230, and there were no Western Wood-Pewee
vocalizations.
The most interesting bird was an apparent intergrade towhee, located between
the pewee area and the next trail intersection to the east. The bird mostly

giving a "rattle call," and the male giving a similar "roll" call. I have a
recording of one of the two, but I'm not sure which. If anyone can distinguish
between the two, and is willing to listen to the recording and
