Oh my GAWD! I was ROTFLMAOPMP!!! This was the best thing to walk in to

deal with Tier 2 folks who don't know that troubleshooting is actually a job
requirement.
Ok, let's sum up:

Speaking of swapping Hard Drives... if I was to upgrade a production server
(NT4_SP6a) with a new motherboard and CPU would the Sysprep utility be the
first step (after backups) followed by swapping Hard Drives? Or is there a
'simpler' way?
Cheers

The TI did 16-color graphics, and could fooble more by dithering.
I can't think of any game from that time that wasn't ported over to the TI.
(The TI supported more than just BASIC as a programming language, BTW. The
slick stuff was loaded using the Editor/Assembler cart)
Pitfall, Pacman,
I didn't have many carts. Most of my games where floppy based. I even have a
few multi 5 1/4 disk games copied to 3 1/2 disks my spiffy 3 1/2 drive. And
I also could do Assembly.

Yes it does sound like a logical conclusion. What card to you have in the
server? If you replace it be sure to look into the server grade cards.

Hi,
How do you guys rollout packages fixes that require reboot. We normally do
that in the weekend and send out a mail to the staff giving them a time
frame in which their systems might be rebooted. But many a times we found
people still working and asking us to wait.
We are planning on
Win2KPro includes a Terminal Server client license. You do not need to
purchase TS client licenses for Win2KPro clients.
Period.
All you need to do is make sure your Win2K TS Licensing Server is
activated (registered) and the 2000 clients will be recognized w/o
problem.

When it has been planned and announced and I show up and someone says
wait, my response is sure, ill give you a couple of minutes to shut
down and that is it.
As for management and in particular with the current state of weekly
patches from MS, downtime is not an option, it is a necessity.

Cool info and
As far as calculating overall downtime (hmmm, five 9s - 99.999 - means about
six minutes of downtime a year, but the server comes down for half an hour
once a week to get patched, or about 26 hours a year. Anything wrong with
MS advertising at the moment?)
