I installed mandrake linux 8.0, in xterm, the arrow
keys work correctly, but in application, e.g in
gnuplot, when i press the up-arrow key, it did not
display the history commands, but ^]A something like

new version of Wine that has had

i believe that i have but it keeps popping up the message about the device
modules not loading and that the device is busy or not present, i've
fixed that problem before in windows but i will try to do what you suggested

Yes, KDE 2.x is rather painful with only 64megs. :( Supposedly it is

I don't think Intel botched the P4 design necessarily. They're aiming for
two things on a business perspective, not a technical one. Clock Speed and
Multimedia Capabilities. True, AMD has been designing faster chips with

No doubt. Usually if you have no bottleneck limitations, when you up the
MGHz with the same architecture you get better speed of program
execution. AMD apparently has better architecture and they are planning
to introduce products working at higher speed. They were planning to
move to copper

the default font for Konsole (fixed-misc or some such thing)

I have had my free CD's for 3 or more weeks now, (2 or 3 weeks after I
placed order)
and yesterday, I got a mandrake email telling me that the powerpack had been
shipped and was on its way..
if my own experiances are the indication, I have nothing to complain about..

i found a prog called kfontinst that gave a dialogue in kcontrol to install
fonts, having found the helvetica fonts i wanted in /usr/lib/X11/fonts/mdk i
installed these into all of the directories offered by font installer - to be
on the safe side, but to no avail, kde apps still don't see
You have to separate Linux server and desktop usage.
In terms of boxes on desks, Linux is a very little penguin.
Massive server usage will never do anything in the quest for more hardware
support - servers don't need 3d cards etc etc etc
