Regarding the movie Saving Private Ryan, I would presume that it was
shot with Panavision lens rather than Canon.
Sam.
According to Nikon publication Code No. 8CE43001, which has a big photo
of the F100 on the front, the F100 will bracket in ether direction as
well as over or under only.
The F100 literature that I received from Nikon tells us that the command
dial in the back is the main (Shuuter) and the front one is the sub
(Aperture) as is with the F5. However, having said that the F100 has
custom setting #12 which allows us to flop these functions. Putting the
aperture in
Hello out there! I have not got a digest since #184. Can someone let

As I understand it from Nikon, the photosecretary II is a standalone
software and not an upgrade. In addition, it looks as though it is for
the windows platform only and not for Mac.

My advise to you is simple, put Nikon lens on Nikon cameras.

Sandy;
I recently experienced what seems to be the same thing on my 180 2.8
lens. I took it to Nikon and what they did was this:
They put a very small bit of oil on the rotating screw on the mount of
the lens. If you hold your lens so your looking at the back and rotate
the focusing ring you
Having just read your most recent post I would recomend the following:
1. Put Nikon lens on Nikon cameras.
2. Check out the Nikkor 24 2.8 AF. I see this lens all the time at BH
in New York for around $300. Check out thier web page.
3. Look for a used one. A lens like this in good condition
Mike you may like to take a look at Moose Peterson's Wildlife Research
Photography web site. I'm sure you will find specific info on the
subject.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand all the belly aching about the F100
the MB-15? Why not just wait till it comes out and check it out. If you
like it, buy it! If you don't, Don't!

The N90s new is $710 and the 35-70 2.8 is $530 and the MF-26 is $190

Nikon makes a hot shoe attachable gadget called the AS-15 (#3066NCP).

Take a look at the Domkey straps. They have a rubber threading that

I don't know which ballheads you were considering, but the
Manfrotto/Bogen 3262QR is a good relatively meaty ballhead. Suitable
for 35mm medium format. It sells for about $45.00 US. I have one on
my 3035 tripod and one on my monopod as well.

Don't sell the MF lens that really matter to you. Just slowly start to
add the AF lens. Then one day you will wake up and ether sell all of
the manule gear or just pare it down to a good back up system.
Have fun.

Mind boggeling it is! If we treated our clients like that, we would
soon be asking people, "Would you like fries with that?".
Sam

Relax man! The inside of the back along the hinge has a light trap to
prevent light from entering when the back is closed. Remember, light
doesn't go around corners.
And odd as it may seem, the focus posistion indicator light just flashes
for a moment. Don't ask.

I believe what your refering to is the lock for the aperture ring. If
you stop down to F22 you can rotate that orange button and the aperture
ring should then be locked into place. This feature is for using

When you rate 100 speed negative film at 50 you are overexposing the film
by 1 stop. When a print is made from that negative, colors
will be less saturated looking somewhat washed out. By underexposing the
negative, it will yield a more saturated print.
When you rate a 50 speed positive
Wes:
You are talking about the latitude of the film, and the ability to yield
an exceptable print from an overexposed neg., not the actual
characteristics of the film and it's print. In addition, grain is
something that becomes more noticeable with overexposure.

I have both these lens. The 80-200 zoom is a great lens to have when
you need that zoom capability. However, it is heavy, and can fall
victim to shake hand held at slow shutter speeds. On the other hand the
180 is much lighter and is more forgiving when it comes to slower
shutters
