Hi, it's already been changed in SVN. I thought there was already a bug

Are people in pkg-games interested in having contrib packages rather
like java-package (that produce non-distributable binary .debs for
proprietary games) in the archive/under team maintenance, and would
some DD be willing to sponsor such packages?

It sounds interesting, I'm certainly happy to sponsor if the consensus
on here is that we want such things.

Hi, sorry for not replying sooner, I was intending to. If you still need
a sponsor, then I am happy to do so.

A couple of points from reading the packaging:

you should mention yourself in debian/copyright and the licence under
which your packaging is released and you should include the year on
   both copyright statements.

you should remove commented debhelper lines which you aren't using.

There are some warnings in the build which you should look at at some
point:

   dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: debian/briquolo/usr/games/briquolo shouldn't
be linked with libfreetype.so.6 (it uses none of its symbols).
   dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: debian/briquolo/usr/games/briquolo shouldn't
be linked with libz.so.1 (it uses none of its symbols)

Other than that it looks in pretty good shape, and I'd be happy to
sponsor it.

In terms of adding it to SVN, you should keep the packaging in some sort
of revision control system, the debian games team SVN is as good as any,
particularly if you would like to include it as a team maintained
package.

Bug#454346: New release of Frets on Fire in Debian

2007-12-05 Thread Matthew Johnson
Dear Sami,

We have been trying to package your latest Frets on Fire release for
Debian, but we have run into a couple of problems.

Firstly, the test for using cached pngs has been disabled (Svg.py:541,
'and 0:' needs to be 'and 1:'). This is not a problem as we can maintain
a patch to enable it if you do not want it upstream.

Secondly, I found that all the text was failing to display. Thanks to
Ari I tried reverting Font.py to the version from 1.2.451. This caused
the text to start displaying as before, but I couldn't narrow down the
change any more so I don't know whether there are any changes we would
like to have in there or whether it is better to be fixed with you. I'd
appreciate any help on this you can give.

Finally, after doing this I could then play the game, but rather than
nice animated sparks on the notes when they are hit I get bits of the
screen flashing in an ugly fashion. I've no idea what causes this and
certainly would like any help or advice you can provide about this.

Miriam or Ari may be able to shed some light on this, but for the moment
We have to hold off uploading the new version.

Thanks,
Matt

 what is PyAmanith ?

It's not suitably licenced to be in Debian. It's an SVG renderer, we
have pre-rendered PNGs instead, that warning can be ignored.

Bug#427164: Libraries under ~/.fretsonfire do not work

2007-07-23 Thread Matthew Johnson
Hi Sami, I've had a bug report about using songs under ~/.fretsonfire.

Adding songs at the top level work fine eg:

   ~/.fretsonfire/songs/songname/{song.ini,guitar.ogg,...}

However, if you try and put them in libraries it does not work eg:

   ~/.fretsonfire/songs/library/library.ini
   ~/.fretsonfire/songs/library/songname/{song.ini,guitar.ogg,...}

The error message you get is:

[Errno 2] No such file or directory:
   `/usr/share/games/fretsonfire/data/songs/library'

Libraries work fine under /usr/share/games/fretsonfire/data/songs/ and,
infact, simply moving the library directory from ~/.fretsonfire/songs/
to /usr/share/games/fretsonfire/data/songs/ means that it works.

I think I see the problem. You have tried to put the songs in
subdirectories (autres etc). However, to do that you have to designate
the directories as 'libraries'; otherwise it will assume they are songs,
and try loading autres/song.ini and song.ogg etc.

You do this by putting a file called library.ini in the directory
containing a [library] section:

   [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/share/games/fretsonfire/data/songs/fretsonfire $ cat
library.ini
   [library]
name = Frets on Fire Tracks

If you put one of these files in ~/.fretsonfire/songs/autres/, then it
should would. Please let me know if this is not the case.
