Sometimes, after changing the volume, mixer-applet will show the
volume as muted, rather than as the new volume.

Does it happen when you lower the volume close to zero? If so, this is
expected.

Bug#451229: nautilus: Please enable beagle support

2007-11-14 Thread Johannes Rohr
Package: nautilus
Version: 2.20.0-rudi.1
Severity: wishlist

Please enable beagle support in nautilus. The additional cost is
moderate, as libbeagle0 occupies just a few hundred k of disk space.

I am currently using locally a rebuilt nautilus package with support
for both tracker and beagle and I am very content with it.

The reason for wanting beagle is that, even though tracker is
lightning fast when dealing with small amounts of data, using it in
a real-life environment shows that it is not very mature yet.

The trackerd crashes frequently over some mails, many data sources
which beagle support are still unsupported by tracker and most
annoyingly, tracker-search-tool often hits a timeout, waiting for
trackerd to return the results. Addionally, tracker's search result
are often extremely incomplete, especially for mail.

Therefore, despite its higher memory consumption, beagle is still the
first choice for me and I would like Debian to support it out of the
box, just as Ubuntu does.

Thanks,

Johannes

When using the Mist theme I see the error above on starting any GTK
application. The cause is pretty
obvious and easily rectified - the first line of the file defines
gtk-color-scheme but it should be gtk_color_scheme - ie. with
underscores and not hyphens.

Creating an actual patch file seems redundant for a 2-char fix...

We have an in house application used by 12 simultaneous users (Xvnc
access).
After upgrading to gtk2.8, the system became unuseable because it was
too much loaded. Our analysis shows that the application + Xvnc use much
more CPU than with gtk2.6.
The main cause is scrolling, when changing the update policy to
discontinuous, the load went down as normal.
Something has changed in 2.8 that makes scrolling dead slow and cpu
intensive.

Does it happen when you lower the volume close to zero? If so, this is
 expected.

It can happen at any level of volume. For instance, I might have the
volume at 76%, turn it up a notch to 80%, and have it show as muted
instead. I have not observed any correlation with volume. As I change
the volume up and down, I can see the same levels of volume appearing
sometimes as muted and sometimes as the correct level.

If I do a change in my .fbpanel/default or a new program is installed so
the debian menu file gets updated fbpanel rereads the config files and

rhythmbox running it crashes when fbpanel restarts. It must be something
to do with the docking. fbxkb does not crash. If I kill fbpanel and
start it again it doesn't crash. I have now tried to manually compile
the fbpanel 4.1 to 4.3 from sourceforge and I don't see the same
problem, but the reason may be that they don't restart when one change
the configuration files.

I don't know what the problem is exactly, but I can help debug some more
if necessary. At the moment I run fbpanel 4.1 that I compiled myself. I
didn't like the changes done to 4.2 and 4.3...

Changing the GtkTreeView::vertical-separator style property in your
gtkrc file makes a GtkTreeView/GtkTreeModel bug. When I set
GtkTreeView::vertical-separator to 0, I can see that on gaim :

http://djdeath.atr.free.fr/iter1.png
http://djdeath.atr.free.fr/iter2.png

As you can see the popup window displayed is the same for two first
contact, but it shouldnt. Removing the GtkTreeView::vertical-separator
from the gtkrc and reloading the theme makes immediatly gaim display the
good popup window for each contact.

Here is my gtkrc file :

I experienced the same problem with other clearlooks based themes on
x86 and ppc.

I can't reproduce this bug with GTK+ 2.12.0. I think you could consider
 it as fixed.

Hi,

Thanks for confirming, the original submitter haven't responded so we'll
consider it done.

gnome-vfs override disparity

2007-11-14 Thread Debian Installer
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

libgnomevfs2-common_2.20.1-1_all.deb: package says section is libs, override
says devel.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please reply to this mail and explain why.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you replied to one
like it before and have not received a response yet, please ignore
this mail. Your reply needs to be processed by a human and will be in
due course, but until then the installer will send these automated
mails; sorry.]
