Bug#451229: nautilus: Please enable beagle support
Package: nautilus Version: 2.20.0-rudi.1 Severity: wishlist Please enable beagle support in nautilus. The additional cost is moderate, as libbeagle0 occupies just a few hundred k of disk space. I am currently using locally a rebuilt nautilus package with support for both tracker and beagle and I am very content with it. The reason for wanting beagle is that, even though tracker is lightning fast when dealing with small amounts of data, using it in a real-life environment shows that it is not very mature yet. The trackerd crashes frequently over some mails, many data sources which beagle support are still unsupported by tracker and most annoyingly, tracker-search-tool often hits a timeout, waiting for trackerd to return the results. Addionally, tracker's search result are often extremely incomplete, especially for mail. Therefore, despite its higher memory consumption, beagle is still the first choice for me and I would like Debian to support it out of the box, just as Ubuntu does.
