I had manually upgraded ipython to version 10.1 and reverting back to the
official version 10 Debian package makes the problem disappear. So this bug
may be closed.

With the recent libcairo2 update, matplotlib.image segfaults when using
imgshow().
For instance, launch ipython and execute this commands:
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
import matplotlib.image as mpimg
libcairo2 1.10.2-1 is from experimental, not testing.
