I’ve under High Sierra and I’ve noticed zero issues on my install. I want to
stress that I’ve in particularly noticed zero issues. Perhaps we use different
R packages and use it in different way. :)

Hi Federico,
I know that it isn’t recommended by R Core Group, but you can always instal it
from source using Homebrew. I’ve believe that there is even a bottle already
and you don’t need to compile. I’m not sure.
I’ve using a pure Homebrew install in my Mac and runs faster then the CRAN
a “100% Homebrew R Edition”. I want to write my
own soon since there is none there for High Sierra.
If people is interested I can share here too.
Finally, have a good Finnish Independence and Spanish Constitution day to you
all.

think there
is nothing wrong in ask since probably the problem isn’t cause by the Homebrew
install. Finally, Homebrew is just a way to install R from source.
Anyhow, thanks a lot for your help!

Hi!
I don’t know if you know package manager for macOS Homebrew. With Homebrew
there is a way to stop update certain packages:
brew pin
Does anyone know a way to do a similar thing with R packages?
In the same way, it would be great to be able to receive a notification –an

why they removed the formula from homebrew, but I guess it was giving problems
or something.

I agree more or less with both of you in this take!
I really appreciate Apple effort for keep users safe and this is one the
reasons I'm choosing Apple.
However, one not always can install signed software and that doesn't mean you
are directly at risk. You just have to know what are you
you install.
Other think is you want to use OpenBLAS and OpenMP. You should be able to use
those libraries with CRAN version —either directly or through brew cask— but
I'm not sure since I use Seth's version.

Hey!
I just installed the binary from cran for R-4.0.3 and for some reason I'm
missing the R and RScript commands on terminal. I'm on Big Sur 11.1 and when I
check if there are symbol links on /usr/bin/ related to R I find none.
I'm not the only one
Hey!
I was and I realized after sending the email. But that path doesn't have also
any R symbolic link either.
Can anyone tell me how many symbolic links to R binaries are there?
Thanks!
Cheers!

Hey!
Thanks a lot for the info. Yeah, I've manually symbolinked them. But I just
wanted to know if this was documented or it was an error on my side.
Cheers!
