So we're apparently back to the original question...
"Re: [sane-devel] scanimage -L detects no scanners / sane-find-scanner does --
on MacOS"
`sane-find-scanner` returns `found USB scanner (vendor=0x04c5 [Fujitsu],
product=0x132b [ScanSnap iX500]) at libusb:000:002`
and
`scanimage -
"device `fujitsu:ScanSnap iX500:330189' is a FUJITSU ScanSnap iX500 scanner"
looks like it works?

Hi Ralph, thanks for the followup
Platform: MacOS 11.3.1 Intel Core i9
SANE: scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.32; backend version 1.0.32

Understood.
I read somewhere that adding the LAN IP of the scanner to file `net.conf` (
/usr/local/etc/sane.d/net.conf )
Hi,
According to our page here:
http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html
...only USB is currently supported.
Could you tell us what the platform is (OS/architecture) and what
version of SANE you have installed (scanimage -V)?
Cheers,
Ralph
