I run kubuntu karmic 9.10 on x86 64 and i see that Privoxy still on beta
or alpha but not upgraded to the last stable.
There lot of improvement and security bugs.
I will ask please to backport this version for

This backport solves a bug in the existing Karmic version.
It builds with pdebuild and I've uploaded it to my PPA,
