[Bug 1603564] Re: USB unplug crashes system - Assuming host is dying, halting host

2016-07-20 Thread Guru Prasad
@brad-figg: I ran the command you asked me to. I was able to successfully launch vncserver and run apport-collect in that. I presume the command failed since it showed a backtrace in python and a long html output. dpkg also warned me that package 'linux' was not found. I'm attaching the full logs

[Bug 1603564] Re: USB unplug crashes system - Assuming host is dying, halting host

2016-07-18 Thread Guru Prasad
First off, sorry if this comment is redundant. I cannot say for sure whether the issue happened after an update. I run apt-get upgrade very often and thus cannot peg it down to an update. I have definitely not upgraded (dist-upgrade) my Ubuntu version. I will give the latest kernel a shot, but,

[Bug 1603564] Re: USB unplug crashes system - Assuming host is dying, halting host

2016-07-18 Thread Guru Prasad
I don't think I can run apport-collect. So far, I've had it happen about 3-4 times over 30 hours of uptime. If it does happen again, _and_ I'm able to start a vnc session, _and_ said vnc session works, I will definitely update this bug report with the logs. -- You received this bug notification

2015-04-30 Thread Guru Prasad
This bug exists in Ubuntu 14.04. I created ~/.asoundrc and attempted to override pcm.!default which was not honoured by ALSA due to /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf.d/pulse.conf running after /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf. This caused pulse to override my defaults. An easy fix so far seems to be including
