openoffice crash with fglrx on
I just tested with herd 5 (amd64) alternate livecd, here is a short
summary:
1. install fglrx
2. remove scim so that OO works with fglrx (the above information is a
little bit misleading, I confirm OOo + fglrx + scim do NOT work on v6.10
as well)
Now I try re-install scim, but it will never
I have this same problem with an nvidia geforce mx 440 card in Ubuntu

Jhellen, until now the bug was referred to fglrx drivers, it would be
very helpful if you attach the same logs that Alvin Wu attached. Since
you're using a nvidia graphic card maybe the problem isn't the same.
Also, which driver are you using with your nvidia?

openoffice crash with
Oh yes, so I cannot use openoffice application now.
Therefore I have to boot into Ubuntu v6.10 (also run with fglrx driver)
to use the openoffice. But there are other bugs (such as synaptics
tocuhpad problem, which I cannot use right mouse button) so I want to
use v7.0.4.

Hello and thank you for your bug report.
Do you have a crash log in /var/crash? Can you please attach that log to
your bug report?
Otherwise you can try to obtain a backtrace by following the procedures
described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash
Best Regards
