[Bug 130094] Tribes3 dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg does not add EndSubSection after color depth

2007-08-03 Thread Cody Peterson
Public bug reported:

If running dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, and one reconfigures and
writes a new xorg.conf file, a no screens found error will occur. It
refers to how SubSection is not a valid keyword.

To resolve the issue, EndSubSection is missing after each depth line.
Once added to each SubSection, startx will continue.

This was found in tribes3 Kubuntu.

Sort of the same problem, X starts but not loading fglrx. Looking at the
xrg logs, I can see that it enables aiglx, wich seems to me being a
nonsense with ATI's drivers.

Ever since I updated to Gutsy, I've been unable to use ATI's drivers,
wether it was with the restricted-manager, the repositories or ATI's
installer.

It fails to open a DRI device (according to the logs)

[Bug 27075] Re: kdesu hangs when password is still in sudo memory [kdesu hangs after using sudo from konsole]

2007-08-03 Thread Anthony Mercatante
kdesudo will soon replace kdesu for gutsy.
I'll fix almost all issues related to kdesu.
You can install it manually from universe at the moment.
Feedback would be nice

Have you tried 'ubuntu' as username, and nothing as password (that is just

[Bug 130099] libapache2-mod-auth-pam: doesnt work with Apache 2.1

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libapache2-mod-auth-pam

Reported to Debian
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=394097

Since the auth mechanisms were changed in Apache 2.1 this module does
not work any more. It probably should be replaced by mod_authn_pam
available at http://mod-auth.sourceforge.net/docs/mod_authn_pam/

I think its importent to change package for pam authentication in Ubuntu as
soon as possible

[Bug 129884] Out of memory

2007-08-03 Thread Bastiaan Veelo
New information: the CD's built on the new hardware behave the same way
(out of memory) on the old hardware, which has a 9GB IDE drive. So this
weakens the suspect that the problem is related to SATA. There seems to
have gone something wrong during the creation of the images - which of
course could still be related to SATA.

[Bug 32415] Re: Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard Broken in Dapper/Edgy/Feisty

2007-08-03 Thread neskweek
Sorry :P
Depited I forgot to post my reults :
When I tryed patching the kernel with bluez patch, the patch process reports
that almost all modifications have already been done to the kernel (which is
weird... maybe that's due to some modification made by the ubuntu team but not
exactly the same that bluez patch. That's only an assumption)

Anyway I tried to compile it, but there's no use: compilation breaks
each time. I don't remember where (sorry). I tried several times with
differents options but it fails. It doesn't compile with that patch.
Without it does.

Seeing that , as I wrote earlyer I think that ubuntu team applyed a
custom patch derived from bluez one (or maybe a older patch created for
older kernel version , but I doubt that one) for any reason. But that
patch isn't working. I think another patch conflict with that one.

As I work on another thing I just spend two days on that. For now, I
just desinstall bluez packages... Making my Dinovo set working as an USB
device :/

[Bug 119038] Re: MASTER Key management / Recipient Key Selection broken (endless loop in EnigConvertToUnicode)

2007-08-03 Thread Martin Pitt
Please make this bug conformant to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates. Wrt. the edgy patch, the
changelog talks about FTBFS in dapper. Is that still relevant for the
edgy update?

Is this bug fixed in gutsy? How was it tested? This is quite a big
patch, so it should be confirmed to be fixed and not causing regressions
in gutsy.

Paul;

Thank you for this reply.

You are correct; this is the issue. I will delete the file mentioned if
the problem continues. It appears this bug has been around a couple of
years; I'm using Feisty 7.04 with Evolution 2.10.1 and the report you
point to was for Ubuntu 5.10 (had that version also).

[Bug 113042] Re: left-handed mouse works weird in kubuntu 7.04

2007-08-03 Thread bruno zanetti
I haven't tried to install Kubuntu 7.04 yet in a real machine.
When booting from the live CD, all works correctly even inside VMware.
After installation on virtual HDD, still ok. After installation of latest
vmtools (build 45731) the problem appears (here attached the xorg.conf before
and after such installation).
I recently upgraded a Kubuntu Edgy virtual machine to Feisty through the
network and the problem did NOT appear (so now I have a working Feisty VM!)
even though the same vmtools were there.
Anyway, I performed the suggested tests on the broken machine and the related
records are here attached.
NOTE: after issuing the xev command I pressed and released just ONCE the RIGHT
button followed by the LEFT one, then I closed the window.
I hope this information can be useful. If needed, I'll try to provide more.
