The problem is, that I just can't reproduce this bug - it works fine on
Fedora 9/10. Actually, Alarm-Clock does nothing special - it just
initializes GStreamer, starts a alarm watching thread (which executes
every second) and then launches a GTK UI. If it freezes the whole

I don't think updating the Python package will make any sense, because I

So if it's not a PyGTK bug, it must be Python. Basically, Python is a
scripting language so it *SHOULD NOT* be able to crash entire machine.
If it does, then there's a bug in Python. I'll try to create the new
version as soon as possible, so someone can package it and push
upstream.

As I've told before, this isn't Alarm Clock's fault.
Why? Because this is written in Python and from Python side I can't even
manage memory to crash like this. There is a bug in Python binding to
some library in new Ubuntu (I know because it crashes for me too).
The only way to manage memory is
Regarding Sander Stuurwold's response:
After clicking OK Alarm Clock initializes Python's threading system by
calling:

And it seems this is where the crash occurs. I really can't do anything
about that, since this function is required for AC to work and seems

If the C version works, this bug is no longer valid.
Also, it's an Ubuntu problem that the screen freezes - Python is just a
scripting language and shouldn't be even able to hang the whole system.
This bug should be posted as Ubuntu bug.

This bug doesn't mean that the physical memory is corrupted. It just
means that Compiz allocated some memory and had a pointer to it, but
