I experienced a similar bug on a Hardy box using network-manager PPA packages. It seems the new version of the Network Manager cannot import pre-0.7 gconf wireless settings. As a workaround, remove old settings using gconf-editor (/system/networking/wireless) and configure it again. -- [0.7]

Well, I tried Intrepid kernel on a Hardy box and everything works until IRQ19 is disabled again. The bug is still here even on the latest 2.6.27-rcs. I reported earlier that some 2.6.25 versions work - I was mistaken since it can take 20 minutes after boot for this bug to strike. -- irq 19:
