to read them just fine. Did you open the Search window and look in

The note file mentioned in the error is probably corrupt for some
reason. Take a look at it, and if you can't salvage the contents,

Owen, that sounds like a file system error. I've heard periodic reports
of 0 byte notes after loss of power or other crashes where apparently
ext4 partitions can be victim to broken writes.
I'd recommend regularly backing up ~/.local/share/tomboy/ until we think
of a way to work around this, if
I hope this is not the exact same patch that was applied before. The
previous patch ended up causing startup crashes after I made some
changes in Tomboy's startup sequence during the 1.1.x cycle.
The only patch I see attached to this bug is the old one that causes the
crash. I can't see any
Tomboy notes are now stored in ~/.local/share/tomboy, and have been
since Tomboy 1.0 (which was shipped in Karmic).
If you still have notes in ~/.tomboy, they are from Tomboy 0.14.x
(Jaunty).
I'm not aware of any Tomboy dataloss bugs that would cause you to lose
notes like this. On the

I'm not sure I saw anybody announce that evolution-sharp is dead.
Having no updates in one year is not uncommon in the open source world.
I'm not sure I agree with this statement from the Debian bug: It's
completely broken with no signs of life upstream.
If by completely broken you mean that the

Try starting Tomboy with --debug, but redirect output to a file. So,
from a terminal, run `tomboy --debug out.txt` .
Then, when Tomboy starts hanging, from another terminal run `kill -s
QUIT $(pidof tomboy)` . That will trigger Tomboy to dump even more
output (but it won't actually kill
