because they themselves aren't one. And I think an IM on Win call 万能五笔
which is independent from the system's IM framework.
And, I don't think it is a must for an IMF to ask the user before they
replace some part of the system.

Some more information about the same problem on my Awesome: I am using
xcompmgr when this appears. When I kill xcompmgr, the menu behaves
normal.

Same here when I was using 10.04 with compiz on. Later I switched to
Awesome and the nouveau driver, this happens again, but only with
Awesome's own menu.

I strongly disagree to make Baidu as default. For a Ubuntu user in
China, Baidu, for the most time, is *useless*. Baidu does know better in
some aspect, but most Linux users won't need in this aspect too much.

I am using Ubuntu 9.10, and I've just found that, if I (and a friend of
mine with the same Ubuntu 9.10) install ibus, and set
GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus, inkscape won't crash, no matter whether I am using
ibus. Tried =fcitx when I am using it but inkscape still crashed.
