I've upgraded alsa and pulseaudio and added the analog-surround-21
profile in /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/profile-sets/extra-hdmi.conf
and now it seems to work correctly.

when I plugged the subwoofer hda-jack-sense-test -a indicates:
Pin 0x1e (Not connected): present = Yes
You see the surround-21 profile active because I added it in
/usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/profile-sets/extra-hdmi.conf for testing, now
I removed it and I'm going to attach
your internal digital Mic is at node 0x12 but asus-mode4 just add node
0x16 speaker and node 0x19 into Mic

I don't know if the issue is the same, but when I insert the external
subwoofer nothing happens and I cannot select surround2.1

you have to provide output of alsa-info.sh and pulseaudio verbose log

specify asus-mode4 won't work if your BIOS didn't set the pin default of the
subwoofer
