Three-finger drag seems to be working, although I think the way apps
stack there simply wouldn't work at all if the right-edge quick swap

MultiROM Manager does this, but I don't know where. Still,
your phone will show the update in System Settings once it's available.

You can make the filesystem read/write using adb shell touch
/userdata/.writable_image and then adb reboot.
Note that this breaks updates, so after that you're on your own. Might
be better to use Ubuntu 13.10 for this then, rather than trusty.
